Calon handwritten

Greetings, Friends! from the editor of Calon...

Welcome to Calon which is now available here on the internet. "Calon" is Welsh for "Heart". We've chosen that name not only as a symbol of love and warmth but also because we hope this newsletter will be a vital organ for circulating news, ideas and fellowship around our system! So What do we need Calon for?

Calon is one way of providing communication between Friends in Wales. From the feedback we've had in recent months we see that it should play an important role in providing information about the activities of Meeting of Friends in Wales as well as being a journal of discussion.  With our scattered membership and travel issues, many cannot come along regularly to Meetings of Friends in Wales and so lose that opportunity to make new contacts and share and exchange news and insights. We want Calon to reflect the 'Cynefin' of Wales and for that we need you.

We need you to help us make Calon. All we need is for you to consider what you want to see in it and to consider how you could contribute to it. Perhaps your local meeting or area meeting could consider appointing a communications person or 'news hound': a scout who could forward items of interest from local sources, local meetings, or from the media.

What canst thou say? This is YOUR newsletter, Friends, so please tell us what you think of it, and what you would like to see in it. We are very keen to have articles and items from YOU and from your local meeting.

We want to hear from you with your ideas and contributions.

All the contact details are available in the latest edition.
